Hallo ik ben Ville. Ik kom uit Finland. Hoe gaat het met je? Dank u well. (Summary of my dutch skills)
So I have stayed in Holland now for seven weeks and time has gone by in a blink of the eye. In a way it feels like I just arrived here, but on the other hand during these weeks lot of things have happened.I have met new very nice people, travelled to French and Belgium (twice), learned little bit of slacklining, played flipcup (Europe vs. Canada, Europe won!!!) =D and of course studied at HZ. Working methods at Hogeschool Zeeland are similar to the working methods in Finland, lots of group working and theory lessons.
Brussels-Paris trip with Canadians
We had holidays from school (21th of February to 1th of March) and group of 11 people decide to travel to Belgium and France. I thought to join the group and booked the train tickets to Brussels and from Brussels bus tickets to Paris. We left from Vlissingen on Saturday morning (8:15) and of course I forgot to print my train tickets the day before. I found out that it's not easy to find a printer on Saturday morning in Vlissingen. Five minute before the train departure time I managed to print my tickets.
Brussels was nice city eventhough the weather wasn't the best possible. I tried Belgium waffles and fries and both were delicious. The architecture in Brussels is unbelievable, the city is full of old buildings, statues and pillars. We only stayed in Brussels for one night so we didn't have too much time to do sightseeing though. Maybe someday I'm able to go again. Our bus to Paris left Sunday evening. I and Daniel decided to go see the Earth expo, which was really interesting, but because of that we almost were late from the bus.
We arrived to Paris on Sunday evening after sitting over three hours in a bus that didn't have an air-conditioner or at least it wasn't on.Paris was all that I had expected and more. We stayed in a nice hostel which was really cheap but quite far away from the central. I saw Mona Lisa at the Louvre and went to the top of Eiffel tower. I listened live music, had cold drinks and watched a football juggler doing amazing tricks at the stairs of Montmartre hill, it was probably the highlight moment of the Paris trip for me.
That's all for now
Greetings
Ville
Ps. This weekend we did a bicycle trip and ended up to Belgium. The sun was shining the whole day and we cycled more than 60 km. I will add some photos...
