Hey
It's time to sum up this week eventhough today and sunday is still ahead. The first week went so fast, that It's hard to even remember what happened on what day. But I try. On monday we had this welcome dinner at local restaurant and all the exchange students gathered together for the first time. The evening was quite nice. There are students from all over the world, atleast from Germany, Canada, USA, Austria, Italy, Korea, Spain and Portugal. On tuesday we had introduction day at our school HZ. The HZ sports manager told about what kind of sports we can do here and the list was very long. Carting, indoor wallclimbing, tennis, futsal, football, swimming, basketball, vollyball etc. After the introduction me and my german roommates went to play tennis. After tennis german dudes cooked some food and we had some german beer, it was great! We stayed up quit late and watched slow motion videoclips of Roger Federer forehand no idea why?
On wednesday we had sightseeing race where we had to walk around Vlissingen and take photos. It was fun eventhough we had to walk quite a bit. And btw kebabs are so much better here than back home in Finland. I will upload the race photos here later. Wednesday evening we had welcoming party in a bar called Popeye. Almost every new exchange student came there eventhough we had to leave to Amsterdam next morning 8 o'clock. Lots of free drinks, jegermaister and beer, not that good combination. We had some difficulties to woken up next morning but get in to the train station on time!
On Thursday we went to Amsterdam. We visited the Heineken Brewery and had nice time there. I have to recommend that for all who are planning to go Amsterdam. After Heineken we went to Anne Frank museum which was really stopping experience. Of course we walk through red light district and saw the coffee shops but to be honest those places aren't that exciting.
Yesterday we had sports day at Vlissingens sport arena. We played basketball, volleyball and this game where you have rackets that looked like giant ear cleaning sticks. The game had basically no rules and the idea was hit a softball into a goal. It was little bit a weird game but we had fun.
Now I have to go to do some bike shopping, see ya!
