Hey again everybody!!!
Sorry that I havent been on here for a few days!! Been a bit hectic!!
How are you all?? I hope that you are all ok!!!
Well, I am now in Sunny Santago, Chile!! I arrived here yesterday, after having to get up at 2am...yes...2AM!!!! To get to the airport. As if I wasnt pissed off enough, just because it was a painful hour in the morning, when the taxi driver dropped me off "at the airport," he actually dropped me off about a mile away, somewhere in the car park...which was helpful, as obviously, many flights bound for Chile leave from there daily....hmmmm, and then!! Then, he watched me struggle to lug my (bloody heavy) backpack all the way to the actual door (where I shuld have been anyway!!) without even helping me!! To make matters worse, I had the pacsafe on it (the big metal chain thing) to prevent all the airport scallies from getting their hands on my nickers, or whatever, so I couldnt even get the thing on my back!!!! TTTSSSKKKK!!! Just what every girl wants at 3am in the morning....NOT!!!
Anyway, I managed to get through the airport unscathed, apart from when I was waiting at the gate to board the flight, and for some random reason, everyone was just being noisy, like the guy that was sat there using a little electric shaver on his beard, that made an alarming amount of racket, and the 3 toddlers that decided to have a scrap, which subsequently led to the baby skriking at the top of its lungs.....hmmmm, the joys of travelling!!!lol.(I did wander why the guy just didnt go to the bathrooms, which were like, a cm away, but....)
Anyway, on the plane, as per usual, I had the dodgy entertainment system, and couldnt be bothered to complain about it to the snotty nosed hostess, so it was frightfully boring.Apart from when we were landing. The plane flew right over the Andes to get to the runway, and the view was amazing!!! The mountains seemed to go on forever, some of them snow capped, and some with little roads built into them that looed like silly string had been sprayed onto the mountain side!!It was beautiful!! Then I thoight, "ahh..this is what its all about, eh, Vic!!" to myself.
Anyway, I arrived at the Hostel, which is really nice and modern, and started chattng to 2 American girls, Meradith and Lauren (well, actually they arent girls, they are both 24...) and they were gong to the local market, so I went along and had a gander with them. It was nice, but as it was a fish market, it nevitabely smelt rather fishy.....
They seem really nice though, and are here for most of the time I am, so I may be taggng along with them a bit more over the next few weeks...
Anyway, Mum and Paul were supposed to arrive yesterday afternoon from Lima and meet me here, but they only just arrived, because the flight they should have been on yesterday was over booked, so they forefitted their seat...which may sound a little wierd, but, they got to stay n the 200 pounds a night Sheraton for free, had all their meals free, and are apparently getting 180 quid compo-so it aint too shabby a thing to do I suppose!!! And they still got here in the end, with`pound signs in their eyes!!! (And, considerring that 180 quid can go a long way when you are backpacking!!!!!)
OOO, theres a tune on, talking heads "and the days go by....." that just reminded mr of something!!! Im almost a third of the way through my trip already!!! Well, not quite, but I will be in about 10 days....has it gone fast or slow??I cant tell!!! Backpacking has warped my poor fragile mind, and I have lost all concept of time!!!!lol.
Well, thats about it at the moment. Im going to be in Santiago for 3 weeks, until I go to New Zealand, and another little part of the adventure begins-Im so excited!!!
But, untl then I will keep you updated on Santiago events!!!!
Take care everybody!! Miss you all loads as usual, love you!!!!
Speak to you soon!!! XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
