My Visit with Lizzie!!!!
Yesterday jet lag kicked in, but not so much that it stopped me doing stuff. I navigated the tube yet again to make my way to Buckingham Palace. The point of my little adventure today was not only to visit Queen Lizzie, but to see the changing of the guard. So I arrived at 11:00 only to find thousands of people standing around. I couldn't get close to the fence and was starting to feel a little frustrated when all of a sudden there was loud music. Everyone of course went to see and left the fence!! So I stepped right up to a front row possy!! The changing of the guard was an interesting ceremony - i think i could do just as good a job at yelling at those crazy men with big hair - years of practice!!! I kept checking out the windows to see if Lizzie popped her head out, but no such luck. I mean, I did forget to tell I was going to visit her, so I guess I can forgive her this time for not saying hello or giving me a wave!!!
After the ceremony, I ventured on through the streets of London to find Harrods(of course!!). And after much walking I found myself on a deserted street and realised I was lost!!! So I turned myself around and headed back the way I came. I eventually stumbled across Knightsbridge (a very upperclass shopping precinct) where I found Harrods. Well wasn't shopping in Harrods an experience!!! I couldn't stand all the tourists!!! Yes, yes, I know a little hypocrytical, but they were everywhere and so rude! So i checked out a few things - particularly the chocolate hall - and then made my way home.
Last night we went for a lovely 3 course dinner with a Bellini (champagne style drink) for £15 before heading on to see "Tap Dogs." It was a great show and I'm looking forward to the next one we go to.
Tomorrow I am heading off on my tour. Paris tomorrow night for a picnic by the Eiffel Tower!! Hard life I know, but someone's gotta enjoy it!!!
My blogs may be few and far between for the next 2 weeks, but whenever I get a chance I will try and update. The photos included in my blogs aren't mine - they are just samples of what the site has. I won't download mine till I get home.
Till next time!
Nic
