Yesterday we flew into Budapest, Hungary, we first flew from the Salt Lake City airport, that flight was about three hours and landed us in Toronto Canada, we then flew from Toronto on a nine hour flight into Budapest. After landing we checked into the small apartment, we all then fell asleep for around five hours, local time was about 5pm after sleeping. We visited the home where my sisters missionary leaders stayed during my sisters LDS mission, after this we went to castle hill which was beautiful and amazing. From the ledge of the castle you could see the parliament building. We then returned to the apartment and slept till current day, 6/7/17, we woke up and took the train to the Buda side of Budapest and walked along to the parliament building and then by the Danube river where we visited a memorial which was marked by metal shoes that memorialized the lives of those who had been shot into the river by German soldiers. This experience was very sad and you could try to picture that people's last moments was looking across the river and waiting to be shot. After this we went to a cathedral and visited the inside, strange enough the preserved the right hand of the king. Afterwards we visited a "less historical" building... the Hard Rock Cafe. We then visited an area called heroes square which had statues of all their kings behind we visited another castle and then returned to the apartment to sleep.
