Bonjour!
It is a lovely day in Evry today. The weather is beautiful and I cannot wait for shopping with Nicholette and Erin a little later! Erin and I woke up super early today surprisingly, Woahhh! We had plenty of time to actually make ourselves look presentable for class and still have time to eat breakfast. Usually, we have to pick eating breakfast or looking presentable. Haha! Anyway, today in class, we had the Australian professor. She is really cool and her accent makes learning a lot more fun since she is from "down undah". Makes me wish I had an Australian accent! She taught us about risk assessment and the difference between risk and hazard. After classes, we headed into Paris for a little shopping and to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower. We went to H&M and had a lot of fun trying on a billion things. We made our way to Pompidou because it is the center for vintage shopping.
This vintage store was so ridiculously cool! It was super organized and even had two floors. The sections were so organized that even te polka dotted clothes were all in one section, while stripes were in another, and pink was in another area. It was vintage central. There was jewelry, clothes, shoes, jackets, scarves, purses, even old school bowling shirts. It was so awesome! Erin and I both got button up jean shirts. They sound weird but they are really cool, we look so European! We lost track of time and before we knew it, we had been shopping for close to three hours, so we ended up deciding not to get on the metro and make our way all the way to the Eiffel Tower. So, instead, we decided to have a picnic!
We found a litle grocery store and bought cheese, wine, crackers, and fruit and sat along the Seine River. We had a view of the Notre Dame from where we were and got to see it lit up at night. The tourist boats drove by us about every few minutes and we got to wave to everyone on the boat. The tourists on the boats were so loud and crazy and it made then night even more fun. :) The Asian tourists took a ton of pictures of us as they would drive by...probably because they thought we were real Parisien people having a picnic on the river just casually living in France. I loved pretending to live in France for a day. After we ate our food and were just relaxing, these french people on the other side of the river told us to join them, but we didn't. So, they ended up coming to where we were to get us to bring us over to meet all of them. They were so nice and we were with our friend Sam too so it wasn't weird or sketchy. We met a girl named Lucille, and three guys named Johnathon, Kevin, and Basteouin. They were our age and were from Northern France just visting Paris and some friends. We had a great time talking to them and asking them what is cool to do on Bastille Day and everything. I felt like a true Parisien. :) After about an hour, we said bye to them, with a bisou (which is the proper way to say goodbye in France where you make a kissing sound and touch cheeks) and headed to the metro back to Evry. It was such a great day and it was so cool getting to see what real French kids do in France for fun. The picnic was my favorite part today and I am sad that all of this is almost over!
Sadly tomorrow is a study nigh for exams on Thursday, but I am glad we all went to Paris today and had such an amazing time!
Now to just start packing....wish me luck!
Au Revoir!
