Well we arrived safe and sound in Kuala Lumpur after an hour's delay. First impressions after leaving lovely Singapore are not that great. It's a nice city but not as clean and tidy as Singapore!
On Sunday we had a private tour trip to a gorgeous Chinese temple where we got to go in and see how the worship takes place. From here we traveled to a Hindu temple at, Batu caves. We had to walk up 270 steep steps to enter the temple that was built inside the caves. 270 steps would normally be fine however in 36 degree heat and also them being covered in lots of monkeys made this climb a little more of a challenge for both of us! I'm just glad the steps were in the shade!!!!
After the caves we visited a batik factory, where we were shown how handmade batik is made on silk and Cotton. We could have spent a fortune in the shop here as everything was so nice and well designed. From here we went to the Sengalor Pewter factory for a quick tour around the factory.
The last full day in KL was spent walking around a slightly better area near our hotel; we went to Independence square where the Malaysian flag was hoisted when Malaysia took over from the UK in 1957. We sat in the sun for a while then back to the hotel for a well earned rest after so much walking in the sun!
Next adventure starts tomorrow. Ho Chi Minh City! Where the real shopping can start :-)
"Oohhh nooooooo" I hear Terrie saying. Lol :-)
