The day I met Susan Kennedy!
We had another big lie in this morning, and then had some lunch and relaxed in our lounge - we're really making the most of it! In the late afternoon we took the tram into central Melbourne to meet the Irish boys, as we had all booked onto the Neighbours tour - they didn't want to do it on their own! Once there we got on the Neighbours' tour bus with lots of old people, and firstly drove to the set, which was surprisingly run down. The guide pointed out what everything is used for, and it seems that they recycle a lot on Neighbours, with one bit being used for the airport, prison and shops! As we were looking around, a car drove past us and pulled up in front, and Jackie Woodburn, aka Susan Kennedy, got out! She was so lovely, signing postcards, answering questions, and just generally chatting to everyone. We then drove to a street down the road, which is where the outside shots of Ramsey Street are filmed. It was a lot smaller than it looks on TV, and real people live there, so there were cars coming and going all the time. We also drove to the school, which is actually a language college, and then back into the city. After quickly using the internet to book our next accommodation, we took the tram back to our apartment, and made filled pasta and garlic bread.
