"It's not wrong, it's just different!"
We left Waitomo at 7.30am this morning, and headed for Rotorua. On the coach we each had to introduce ourselves on the microphone, say an embarrassing story and give a green, amber or red light - not that fun at 8am! We eventually got to the Rotorua Agrodome, where we watched a farm show, with loads of sheep, ducks, a cow and sheep dogs. It was actually quite interesting, butalso very random! We then watched some people go zorbing down a hill next to the Agrodome, and then got back on the coach to drive to our next hotel. As we drove through Rotorua Nathan pointed out various things, including the many natural springs and geothermal pools, which explain why there is a horrible smell as soon as you enter the town - it basically smells of rotten eggs!
In the evening we watched a traditional Maori show, and had a New Zealand feast. We were in our element trying all the food, and it was a buffet, so we ate loads! Earlier Nathan had warned us to remember when trying new food, 'it's not wrong, it's just different' - just one of the many sayings he's come out with so far! The Maori show was amazing, and some of the guys we're travelling with got up on stage to do the Hakka, which was really funny. Don't think it was quite as good as the one in Fiji though! After the show we went to the Polynesian hot pools, and spent the rest of the night swimming in the natural spring water.
