Went on our way to Budapest today and stopped by a small park area to have a picnic. After that we had a long drive to Budapest where the bus was scorching hot because the air conditioning was broken and the sun here in Eastern Europe is the hottest ever.
Arrived at Hostel Marco Polo and had time for a quick shower and did the laundry before going to dinner with the whole group at a restaurant called Kiado. It was the first eastern europe food that I really enjoyed. It was a 3 course meal and the soup was really good (they love serving us hot soup in hot weather for some reason).
After that we were picked up by a tour guide that showed us Budapest by night. I thought Budapest would be like Krakow but it felt more like Paris with all the lights, absolutely beautiful and my favourited eastern europe city so far. After that we went on a boat cruise through the Danube (which separates Buda to the west and Pest to the east). We caught Carlos our tour guide/driver already on the boat when it docked chatting to some girl (cheeky fella). Boat cruise was pretty nice too and got a chance to cool down as it was quite humid. After the ride we walked back to the hostel and had an early night.
