I'm sure you people realise the photo alongside this blog is not of the golden gate bridge or fishermans wharf but of an hawaiian holiday, this is simply because i haven't taken any pictures (Yet)
This is my first real day in San Francisco. I arrived yesterday afternoon, but because of the long flight was really boring and went to sleep early,(my excuse to wake up refreshed and ready for the days activities).
We woke up this morning me and my fellow traveller katie to find that it was raining. Now you readers may not find that a big deal, but when i went to cancun in november it rained for 9 days out the 14 we were there, it had been sunny weeks and weeks before we had arrived (girls also on the trip you know what i mean). We braved the weather anyway and went on a sightseeing bus tour to get an idea of the sights and sounds of the city. we decided to be lazy and took the tour the whole way round and end where we started. The tour is $20, but it is probably cheaper to just hop off and on trams and buses, the drivers seemed happy to help.
Tomorrow is the visit to alcatraz, and will probably take a walk around chinatown and surrounding area. Lets hope they don't reopen the prison and lock us up (could be a problem for the rest of our journey). I'm quite intriqued to see what this famous prison is all about and i will update when i find out.
