we got to vegas on the 28/03, after a commotion with the buses. we were meant to arrive the day before but due to weather conditions,it was windy,we were told the bus couldn't drive on highway58,so we had to book into a motel (nice) in bakersfield.
when we finally got to vegas the day afterwe dumped our stuff in the hotel we werestaying in,yes we decided thatas we were stayig in vegas we might as well see if we could geta good deal for a mid week room. we were staying near the fremont experience on fremont street. this had a light show in the evenings where all the casinos would turn their lights off then the covering which was over the streetwould light up, with a particular theme, on the one we saw they were advertising the las vegas grabd prix which was going to happen around the streets of down town. worth seeing... we then visited the casinos on the second evenig to see what kind of people were around and what amount of money was being chucked around. i personally felt very intimidated in the bellargio because of the grandure of the place and it was probably partly to do with the casual clothes i was wearing, not exacting super casino attire.
the next day we then visited the grand canyon,we decided me and my travelling partner thatwe would get a plane to the sight then hope on a bus to the canyon. the plane journey was brill as we also got to go over the hooverdam and lake mead which are places i would not have thought to visit. once we got to the canyon we were able to go on the skywalk, which is on the westside of the canyon, and a new attraction, which had only opened a couple of days before. we had to pay $25 to go on it,well it was $26, if you include the tax they then stick on, this country, they love theirs taxes. i personally didn't think it was worth the money, as you can just as much from the side of the canyon. we then got a chance to have a meal cooked by the halipi indians,yummy....
the next day we decided to see the strip in daylight, and get some good pics as the night ones didn't come out so great,we decided to have more of a relaxig day, then in the evening we went to see the blue man group who were playing at the venetion, so worth the money they were amazing. we then left for La and another bus journey Great......
