Hello everyone!
First of all, CONGRATULATIONS Heather and Andy! Hope you guys are enjoying your honey moon.
Sorry for the delay in our blog entry, but we have been a little bit boring by working.
I managed to get a lot of work in Brisbane in 5 different private hospitals, so that was good, it made me realise how lucky we are in the UK to have National Health Service, believe it or not!
Rod had some casual work doing a bit of this and that in exhibiton centres setting up for exhibitions funny enough!
In between the working we managed to do a lot of things at the weekends,
Australia (Steve Irwin) Zoo as everyone can imagine Rod was in his element, although he was still miffed Steve couldnt be there, but it was a really nice Zoo the best we have ever been to, as it is completely animal orientated instead of money orientated.
Movie World, we got to meet all of the Warner stars and screamed through a couple of rides quite a fun day.
We spent quite a bit of time just chilling (which is what the Australians are really big on) around Brisbanes city, in the botanical gardens, parks and a place called South Bank which is a really nice area for families, also we took a bus up to Mount Coo-ttha which had the best views of Brisbane it was a lovely sight.
Also while we stayed in Brisbane we went and met and stayed with my Dads cousins on Mount Tamborine which is our most favourite place in Australia so far. It was just so beautiful and had some excellent views down onto the Gold Coast. Our time with them was wonderful as i had not seen any of this side of my family since i was about 8 years old. We had our first BBQ's with them which were very tasty!!!!!!!
We spent 1 week travelling to Sydney, stopping off at the Gold Coast, Coolangatta and Byron Bay which are all beach and surfing places. It was nice to chill out for a week after working.
I think Byron Bay was our favourite because it is quite a hippy community which makes it a very chilled out place and very environmentally friendy. We took a long walk up to the lighthouse to see the views which were stunning but watching the dolphins playing in the waves so close to the surfers was amazing.
Now we are in Sydney staying with Rod's cousin and girlfriend, waiting for the work to start again so we can carry on adventuring, we have Swan Lake booked at the Opera house next week so that should be fab and the next move is to book the Sydney Harbour bridge climb which should be fantastic.
But for now thats all we really have to say
Hopefully we won't be so long with our news next time
Keep in touch everyone the message board still works
We love hearing from you all
take care
lots of love
