G'day mates!! why hello from Australia! cant belive that we are actually here. the flight over was ok the plane was a bit crappy hardly any leg room and no T.Vs in the front of you!!! how rude. but we had dinner whcih again was rubbish it was asian food of course and we had just enough of rice and noodles and wanted some real food! but we ate it still be rude not too! we landed on ozzy ground finally and collected our bags rand the hostel up where we are staying to come and collect us free of charge which we like! our hostel is nice clean and friendly altho some of the people there are a bit weird! we setteled in and made our selves at home by letting our bags explode all over the floor!! we then headed towards the esplande as we thought it would be a nice walk! i (sarah) was abit shocked when i first saw the beach it was really crappy but then i found out by vic that there is a lagoon with a pool so i was happy plus you would not want to go down on the beach as they have crocs crikey!!! we walked to the lagoon which is really nice had some food and went in to the town area to look at some tours and to find out how to get to uluru (aryes rock) asked one company and they were pretty crap so we looked somewhere else. we got rather excited when we spotted and STA travel agents so we wnet in there. we booked 3 tours in here barrier reef, cape tribulation and the rock! we spent the same amount of money in less than one day in oz than we did in asia for the whole month we were pretty shocked but hey ho thats what we are here for! afeter that little spree we wnet and had dinner a free dinner at that as we get free dinner with our hostel! making the most of free food! we hung around the lagoon area to wathc a little animal show that was being done. while we were waiting we saw loads of bats and they were huge never seen bats like it! the little show was ok saw some birds and a furry thing cant remember wat it was but it was cute! then we walked to our hostel its bout 20-30 min walk. as we were walking we got attcked by a bat!!! it nearly ate us, we jumped into each others arms it scared the crap out of us! what is it with us and animals oh speaking of animals we saw the magpies attacking this guy today hehe it was so funny they just dive bomb! vic was not so amused! any way the next day we went to the reef this was such a cool day! the reef it so pretty and we saw lots of nemos! we also did and introductory dive which was bout 30 mins it was also included in the price hence why we did it, as i keep saying get as much of the free stuff as you can!, the dive was really great apart from we both had trouble with our ears we didnt think we was going to be able to carry on at one point but we stuck with it! glad we did we saw a cuttle fish which is rally rare i (sarah)thought it was a squid of some sort as that what it looks like! saw some sting rays too! we wnet to two parts of the reef the second was alot better saw more stuff. sarah saw a reef shark!! just! and a huge fish called a potato lipped fish i think! and lots of other little fishy! the coral is so pretty not as coulourful as we thought it was going to be but still very pretty! we treid getting some photos but unfortunately they have not come out too well! we had a very nice day and lots of fun was had! that night was pretty much the same as the last free dinner net and bed! up early agian today for cape trib! our first stop was at a crocodile place where we cruised for 'salties' but we didnt see any big juicy ones only little baby ones! but still we can say we have seen a croc! then we moved on to the rainforrest and walked thru there this is where our tour guide likes the bum of a green ant! a couple of people tried it but we didnt yuk apprently it tastes tangy! each to there own! we the went to lunch at cape trib and went on the beach! ( sarah did not realise that this was actually cape trib she asked when we got back in the bus are we going cape trib now, to whci vic replied that was it) hehe bless. it is pretty cool to have a rainforrest on a beach! we then went to mossmans gorge and had a very refreshing dip in the water! it was freezing but it felt so nice! randomly bumped ito the diveing instuctor we had the day before with his family! we then went onto Port Douglas a little town this is where me and vic had the best and biggest ice cream ever! instead of us getting beer bellys wer gonna get ice cream ones instead! this ice cream parlour had over 40 flavours! and they were very kind with there scoops we had to eat it fast as it was dripping every where! and after that enjoyable day we headed back and had our free! dinner. we had a nice lay ion the next day and just bumbed round the lagoon we went to the cinema in the eve which was fun. we now move onto aryes rock where we had a very early flight to catch we stayed one night there. as soon as we got there we wnet straight to it and did a walk thru kata tjuna it has 36 domes to it and is by aryes rock we saw a kangaroo and a lizard on this walk. they did not attack us! thank god. we met some pretty cool people on this tour, after our walk we then watched the sunset at aryes rock this was pretty cool and really enjoyed that we had some champagne in a mug classy! and some nibbles the guide cut his finger on a knife so nurse sarah steps in with her first aid kit and helps out hehe! evry one kept asking if she was a nurse! after the sunset we went back to camp and had a bbq!! steak and saussages it was pretty yum. we stayed in luxury accomadation! thank god! there was so many months about seriously never seen so many in my life sarah was very brave! also the flies during the dau were so annoying they would buzz right in your ear!! got up very eraly the next day to watch the sunrise and this was also very cool the colours on the rock were just amazing! got loads of pics!!!! of course. then we did our base walk which took us 2 hours to do as it was 9.4km so tired afeter that! we thenwent to the cultural center of aryes rock where we got told stories by a real aboriginal man!! he was like 90! and we saw some of the aboriginal ladies painting on the floor the pictures were so nice and very clever the youngest was 69! and the oldest was over 90 we couldn belive there were sitting crossed legged on the floor!! give me some of what ever there eating! oh i forgot to say that our tour guide was called sauce and he had a very amusing mullet and very very short denim shorts!!! he was very amusing and very one was trying to get a sneaky photo of him!! we then went to the airport and headed back to Cairns i (sarah) spilled coke all down me! and got very excited by the plane food hehe. we came back with a 3 poeple from our tour and they came to stay at the same hostel with us we all went out for dinner and had a little boogie! was a very fun night and was nice to eat dinner with other people! well thats pretty much it for now bumbed around today did washing and shopped and we move on to mission beach next! see you all there! xxx
