We left Whistler fairly early and headed for Horseshoe bay to catch the ferry to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. As always the drive was exceptional. Everywhere you go it's so picturesque but so different from the last place. We arrived at the port and boarding the ferry was simple as we had booked ahead.
The crossing took about 1.5 hours. We stayed on deck for the sailing that blew the cob webs away !!
Once we disembarked it was a long drive to Tofino. We arrived quite late but the hotel is right on the sea front.
The weather has changed....its overcast and drizzling. The cloud sits in the canyons and makes it quite sinister.
We headed for the nearby bar and sat looking out at the sea. The jetty had rock beneath it and we could see a Racoon searching for food. I know....who'd have thought a racoon .
Had another lovely meal......huge portions every time. We'll both be fat knackers soon. Anyway sat in bed now feeling sleepy....night night

Phil and Elly Out of interest, are you thinking of going to Galiano Island (near Vancouver Island)?? Reason for asking is that my grandfather has a part of Galiano Island named after him, Matthews' Point - he discovered it - apparently - just thought you might be interested!!
