We left Jasper for what we thought would be a 6 hour drive. As luck had it the book was wrong and it was only 4 hours. The clocks went back along the way. Never experienced that before, a sign on the roadside saying put your watch back. We drove along highway 5 which as usual was nearly empty. Mile after mile of long straight road with mountains everywhere.
Clearwater is a town of 1375 inhabitants. I say a town....its a 1 horse town and that escaped !!
As nothing was open on Sunday we drove into the provincial park. We drove to Dawson falls. It was described as a mini Niagra. We found the 'viewpoint' but being Vic and Jill we wanted a better look at the falls. So we climbed down the rocks, over the fallen trees, through the mud and ended up at the river bank at the base of the falls. What a view !! The water just roared so loud you couldnt hear yourself.
On the way out of the park we stopped at Saptatha canyon. Again another stunning location. This country lives up to it's billing.
Our hotel is lovely. In fact all the hotels have been great. They are clean with large rooms. All have two queen size beds, wide screen tele. We've just had trout for dinner. Proper caught in the local river trout....yum yum.
Tomorrow we are off to a place called 100 mile house and a 2 night stop at Hill health ranch......carrot juice !!!!
