Hola from the White Sand Beaches of the Mayan Riviera!!
So the wedding has come and gone, it's been a week and a half since the last of the crew left us behind, stranded here in a beautiful condo with our own pool that our friend Stacey's parents so nicely donated to our cause! It's been tough but Mo, Steve, and I are making the best of the situation, so don't be too concerned....
For real though, Mexico has been amazing yet again. I arrived a few days before everyone, first meeting up with Mo and Steve, then my folks and Lyndsey and Josh, and then it was our turn to check into Barcelo, the place where hunger is never an issue and bahama mamas flow freely! It was definitely a change of pace going from 2 months of sleeping in my tent and eating not much more than fresh fruit, veggies and fish to air conditioning, being able to flush toilet paper, and all the hamburgers and pickles I could eat!!
We had some issues with the weather but everyone easily adapted...the stagette turned into a dance party in the rain on the beach in Playa, the wedding moved semi-indoors but turned out to be beautiful and much more private, and when the rain continued, we just found places to drink under cover!
It was tough to see everyone leave, the one or two weeks we had with everyone were even better than expected, and the little taste made me remember all I miss at home. But from here, there is lots of exciting things to come to keep me busy until the next visit.
Sadly, today will be our last in Mexico for the moment as we move into Belize on Thursday. We are planning to travel 10 days or so together before splitting up for a while. As the plan stands, I am back to Utila to do my divemaster and they will meet me there later so Mo can finally experience what Utila is all about....
Hope this finds you all safe and well, I am sending you all some warm weather, and I am wishing you all the best with all the new babies, weddings, houses, etc, etc....
All My Love....Nic....
