Spent the day sightseeing in Lima our hostel manager kindly drew out a route for us with places to visit which was fab as we didn't have to think about anything. We visited the Cathedral first which was huge I've got to say the Catholic Church must have shares in Gold Leaf (my eyes were dazzled by the amount of gold!). They also had a penchant for wood carvings and scary looking models of biblical charachters! After the Cathedral we visited a Fransiscan Monastery which was really interesting and again full of gold, wood carvings and models. We managed to befriend a Bolivian tourist who could name every team in the Premiership along with most of the players (we didn't have the heart to tell him we knew nothing about football). It was a bit scary as everywhere we went all day he seemed to pop up (I think he was stalking us!) We managed to lose him after a few hours when he spotted some other tourists and went to impress them with his football knowledge!
