Caught the overnight flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles which landed at 5.15 am. I had booked the Holiday Inn at the airport as our flight to Brazil is not till Saturday night. Decided to head for the hotel even though check in wasn't till 3pm and just chill by the pool until we got our room. Got to the hotel at 6.15 am and the manager checks the computer which doesn't say "NO" it says we can have our room now and as we were leaving he says breakfast starts in 5 minutes just come down and help yourselves (bargain)! Now these things seem to have happened to us a lot so far, we have had:
One free car upgrade from a Micra to a top of the range Passat;
One free flight upgrade to Premium Seats;
Two free room upgrades at hotels;
and two early check ins.
I think the UK could learn a lot from the Americans on good customer service!
We do however find this all a little worrying as it seems to good to be true. We will have to see if we luck out in South America
