Spent a frantic day trying to see everything we have missed as it's our last day in New York. Went on a harbour cruise, had lunch in Central Park and went over the Manhattan bridge to Brooklyn. Our bus was leaving at 10.15pm for Chicago, so got to the station about 9pm - big mistake! New York bus station is absolutely filthy and stinks! Next stop Cleveland at 7 tomorrow morning so I can have a long nap. P.S. Nicks bag is now up another 5 kilos as he bought loads...

Have had a really busy day sightseeing today. Have visited ground zero, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Nick tried to get up the Statue of Liberty with the flag but they would not let him he thinks the security guard must have had Kidwelly ancestors!

Left early this morning to catch the 8.15 am greyhound bus from Springfield to New York . I had a little snooze onthe bus (no surprise there!) and we arrived in New York at 12 noon. I booked the hotel months ago and was surprised and delighted to find it was only two blocks away from the bus station, so we only had a short walk with our rucksacks. Nick is now carrying about 45 kgs as all the Polish cousins sent us on our way with many gifts of food! Spent the day...
