Typo: HANMER SPRINGS
Great time in Wellington, Te Papa museum was fabulous, not only free but interesting (see photos on fb) walked along harbour side and thru the city, went for an Indian meal, asked for medium curry but blew my head off and nose ran haha! Got the bus return ticket, had a lovely bus driver on way home, as we had no idea where to get off the bus!! She was funny, helpful and talking to herself but not in a bad way!
Had a lovely chat with mum and dad before leaving for the ferry to go South!
Ferry was delayed an hour, which meant we had 3 hours! Walked into Wellington and did some site seeing. 3 hour crossing was amazing, scenic, windy and I had a beer!
Picton was small but cute, all you need on your door step.
Kaikoura didn't stop raining, so no boats out, huge swell at sea! Found a cheese shop, had a few samples of NZ cheeses, got wine and crackers and headed back to the van.....after getting soaked walking around the small town wine and cheese was needed! Was so cold after dinner I made Irish hot chocolates aka Jim beam milk hot choc perfect!
Woke early as it was still nippy, made Phil a tea, showered and on the road to Hanmer Springs.
An alpine town/village, back drop of mountains and alpine trees. Did the maze and crazy golf....so much fun, yes big kids! Then went to the Thermal spa, 16 different pools, ranging from 33 to 44c, a great chilled afternoon. BBQ in evening and now having a JB as I type this
