Fox Glacier was a total washout, walked along the torrent river in hope to get to the Glaciers but after a km we gave up and turned back as it was getting dangerous and the last thing we wanted was to be cut off or slip. My favourite drive so far; Christchurch to Glentanner. A spacious not too many twists and turns and most of all, very picturesque. The campsite was next to Lake Pukaki which when the sun shone it was a beautiful turquoise. Also the helicopters and small tourist plane was based there. A twisty, hilly and picturesque drive to Emma and Luke's. A warm welcome as we arrived to their fantastic huge home and garden. A modern new bungalow with a larger then large garden.
