kia ora folks! Hope you can see the photo albums. I'm having trouble attaching one to the blog entry. Back in Blighty you'll be just starting your day, but it's Guy Fawkes Night. We've just finished dinner in the well-named 'Cafe Success' in Coromandel Town. The stars are bright and the fireworks are flying high! There's a cold south wind. Last night we had a warm north wind. Everything is topsy turvy here!
We had a brilliant day in the Bay of Islands. a half day boat trip on the 'Dolphin Seeker'. We saw bottle-nosed dolphins and sting rays. Went on a Maori cultural walk. In the afternoon we went to Puketi Kauri Forest. These amazing giant trees can live for 4,000 years. Sadly, only 3% of the original forests remain.
Finally, we visited the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, birthplace of the nation.
More in a day or two.
