Our day started out with a well deserved sleep in (till ~8.30) after two days of activities. We packed up and went down for a toast breakfast then it was off to flag down a taxi to head to the MBK shopping centre in Siam district. For the FIRST time we got a 'from the get go' honest taxi driver who started the meter without us having to request it. And another bonus, he understood where we wanted to go. Double win. Bought some exercise tops at MBK then went back to CentralWorld Plaza (where we had had an initial look yesterday). 2 hrs of shopping time each and Matt won the day, coming away with around 6 or so pieces compared to Van's 2. After the shopping it was back to the accom in a taxi to pick up bags then head to the airport. Got there well on time but small dramas when , after dinner, the card machine wouldn't work with our cards. Managed to change some dollar bills just on time. Flight to HCMC was pretty good, probably due to the most recent comparison being lots of hours of flying on Friday/Sat.
Accommodation in HCMC is all good, a TV this time, but yet to know if we will understand whatever is on there. First (nighttime) impressions of HCMC are:
- so many mopeds / scooters
- looks generally cleaner than Bangkok
That was garnered in the 20ish minute taxi ride to accom.
And, that was Monday.
