Round two of Amsterdam was a slightly different vibe to Kings Day seven months ago! Greta, Van and Matty managed to secure a small airbnb in North West Amsterdam which was conveniently located to a supermarket and Westerpark. Richard and Sarah also joined us and got a place just around the corner. On Friday Greta and Matty left Van to study and caught up with Emily Wu for breakfast and then found our way onto a tour. While we felt like the typical tourists, it was pretty cool to get out into the countryside to see the windmills, taste cheese and hear a bit about the history. Basically the whole country should be underwater, so we were hoping there wouldn't be a tsunami anytime soon! We got back pretty late and brought home a mixture of finger food for dinner. The next day Van had her big exam and Greta, Matt, Rich and Sarah went exploring around the markets and paid the Heinekin Experience a visit. Not recommended, but it was on the funny side of things. We then made it home to welcome Van with some celebratory drinks and dinner out followed with a wee visit to the red light district. On Sunday we had an action packed day of Anne Frank's Hus, Westerpark markets (very cold but great pies!) and then Van Gogh Museum so we were pretty tuckered out after all of that.
