Van completed her exam last weekend and we managed to move the next day without too many hassles. We also rented the car for an additional day as it meant that we could check out Scarborough Bluffs which was pretty cool. The first brewing session was also held this week and it smells promising, but a lot can go wrong and it will be another month before the verdict will be out.
This weekend we scheduled a trip to Washington DC to say g'day to Obama and it was our intention to pick up our work visas back into the country but they are unfortunately at least a month behind schedule. Highlights of the trip 'south of the border' were seeing the Abraham Memorial, Washington Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Martin Luther King Memorial, the Whitehouse (unfortunately Obama wasn't available for tea), wondering around all of the museums and also staying in Georgetown which was a lovely area to be staying in. Lowlights was our flight being cancelled which meant we had to fork out an extra USD 200 to stay at the airport for the night. Pretty suspicious circumstances with the cancellation as the flight looked to be pretty empty and the weather in Toronto wasn't too bad. Will definitely look to fly home on Sundays going forward. Lesson learned! Overall awesome weekend though, despite sweating the whole time.
