Christian's Little Jaunt
Right then, all change. Simply put, this road trip has been awesome. It's been hand n glove, Morecambe and Wise, Bonnie and Clyde (albeit without the thievery and killing and sharp suits) and it'd be wrong to split the participants at this stage in proceedings so South America will just have to wait til next year.
So Australia here we come. Wandered into Qantas and changed my flights today, so the new itinerary looks (a bit) like this. Tomorrow we're flying to Sydney, then spending 6 weeks travelling the East Coast, then on the 20th October off to New York for a week before landing back in Blighty on the 27th.
Auckland now - big and busy and cosmopolitan and "need-to-be-there-10-minutes-ago." Pulled twice last night, but it wasn't much of a result. Abi and I went for a few beers after an excellent Turkish meal, and ended up in a neon-clad joint which served til late. Nice one. Didn't realise what type of bar it was until after our game of pool, when Abi visited the loo and so left me on my tod at the bar. It then became blatantly apparent what the intentions of the blokes around me were - thanks for saving me Abs.
Anyhow, we're in the city centre, packed and ready to rock tomorrow. New Zealand has been absolutely amazing - nature and adventure and culture and any other -ture words you can think of. I haven't travelled that much in the grand scheme of things, but I can safely say that this has been truly awe-inspiring. Get here, trust me, just do it, just walk into the travel agents on Monday and book your flights, you won't regret a single minute you spend here.
No excuses - you don't really need that new Venetian blind for the conservatory, do you? C x
