Okay, it's been some time, so let's do a recap.
In the beginning of September I went to Paris to visit Corinna :) It was great fun. GG reunion time. It was really spontaneous. 3 Days off...hmmm what to do? Let's check the eurostar site. Good prices for the tickets - let's go!
Late shift on Friday, and then I took the train at 7am next day from King's Cross. I was really tired but I couldn't wait to see Corinna again. Going by eurostar is almost like flying somewhere. Passport control, luggage control, security checks. I was glad to have a seat at the window because I wanted to see some English countryside - well no. Only walls and fences next to the train :( Well then, let's get out the laptop and work on my report. 10:13 sharp I arrived in Paris Gare du Nord. Woohooo, Corinna picked me up from the station and then we walked to her studio nearby (6 floors!!!!)
We talked and laughed a lot about our time in Holland and then went out for a walk and had lunch - a nice panini and as dessert a tarte aux fraises ;) . She had to work later on so I stayed in and finshed off my report (okay I did that after I took a nap for 3 hours). Then I went to the Place de la Concorde, watched the sunset at the Seine, went to the Virgin Store beneath the Louvre and then picked up Corinna from work.
Afterwards we went to the Eiffel Tower again with 'some' dropshot and plastic cups :) We watched some rats, the sparkling Eiffel Tower, a amateur music video shooting. Great night.
Next day Corinna was off, so we had a nice breakfast together and then went on to our mission: Musea day (a lot of them are for free on the 1st Sunday of a month). But before that we went to la Défense because I haven't been there before. Then off to Musée du Quai Branly. Too many people there. It was really interesting but too crowded. But they had a Tarzan exhibition. Next we went to Musée d'Orsay. Very pretty. We got in quite quickly because they opened another entrance - beat ya! Afterwards we went to have some Kosher food :) Falafel. We sat down on a playground watching the kids playing (btw it's a miracle that they don't hit each other every 5 seconds because one is running around, another playing footie, another using the slide, and the last one is driving around on a scooter). As dessert we had nice coffee at Starbucks with a cookie and Cinnamon roll hmmmmmm.
In the evening we went to Café Oz. To sum up the evening: Two German girls in an Aussie bar in Paris, watching Rugby, drinking South African Cider, talking with Americans. Oh and after midnight I realised "s*** I have to work today....in London!"
Not to mention that I was really tired at work :( But I made it. Jeeha.
That was one nice weekend! Can't wait for New Year's and returning to Breda hehe.
