Norway is such a land of contrasts. Magnificent fjords, monstrous rocks and flat farm land. Each little part of southern Norway is beyond description. We left today for a trip into the mountains passing beautiful little villages buried deep in the valleys of the mountains and then had morning tea in an area full of gigantic rocks. These rocks were part of a mountain which collapsed over 10,000 years ago, then along a Salmon River, past Hitlers Teeth (huge concrete blocks placed by the German army to hold back the British along the North Sea coastline), and also old German Bunkers. Then through the flat farm country past burial mounds of ancient vikings. We got back just in time for Irene's father to pick us up to take us back to his daughter's place for tea. What a wonderful family and what a wonderful meal. Finally got to try Reindeer meat which was delicious. What a truly memorable last day in Norway. A big Aussie thank you to all my Norwegian Family for making my first visit in Norway to see the land of my father, so incredible. I will remember your love and warmth all the days of my life.
nb After three visits to Norway, I finally got to see the Salmon flying up a waterfall. How magnificent! I could have stayed there all day. Thank you, my beautiful Norwegian family, a part of my heart will always remain in your beautiful country. Betty Dawn
