Stow, like many English towns, has a plethora of charity shops. Albeit, they do seem a slightly higher grade than the charity shops of my other favourite towns, such as Slough, Barrow-In-Furness, Stoke On Trent and Walsall. In fact, many shops around the country have, at various times, stocked the heaps of rubbish which I have sought to divest myself of over the last few years. In fairness, whilst I call it "rubbish", it often cost an awful lot of money, since my donations frequently resulted from the excessive and faddish on-line purchases of sports footwear, headgear and other fashion accessories by my son. However, I foolishly find myself draw back to these peculiar temples to the discarded excesses of the consumer society. I suspect I am in search of some perfect item of Kitsch, or maybe I just like looking at things wondering "what the f**k were they thinking when they bought that!?". Anyway, with that in mind, I was drawn to these items, a porcelain sheep and a Cadbury's latte glass - in particular, the sheep I find sumptuously absurd. One day, no doubt, they will either go back to some Sue Ryder shop, or more likely, end up in some skip somewhere....
