Ahoy there! How the devil are you all? I thought I would give you all an update to how we are going! We are still in Sydney at the moment and looking to sell our van, but once we have done this we are going to head to Melbourne and then go to New Zealand earlier to catch up with the guys from Thailand.
So far Sydney has been a lot of fun. The city is a wonderful place and really lives up to it's reputation. The sights are just as amazing as they are in postcards. We have managed to do most of the things Sydney has to offer fairly quickly as we had limited time to get it done due to everyone leaving us over the few weeks we have been here. Firstly Neil and Dave left us for New Zealand and most recently Warren and Wayne have gone to, so it is back to me and Brainer again, although we have met a new bunch of people and have been having a great laugh with them. It's funny how when one bunch of friends leave you get the weird feeling of things won't be the same but you straight away bump into new people and new friendships form. I guess thats the nature of travelling though.
We are staying in the outskirts of Sydney and have a roof terrace overlooking the city which is amazing both in the day and at night. It is not the best place we've stayed but having a laugh regardless. Since we have been here we've managed to see the Opera House. It is fantastic and looks amazing at whatever angle you see it. We have also been to Bondi and Manly beaches on the days where the weather has been good. Unfortunatly this hasn't been too often although it is getting better now.
Me and Wayne also managed to climb the Harbour Bridge. We took the twilight tour which takes you up there in the sun, but as you get to the top the sun goes down and you come down with the city all lit up!. This was amazing and probably one of the best things I have done on my travels. We also managed to go to the Sydney Sky Tower which gives you great views all around the city. Unfortunatly the weather wasn't the best for the sky tower but still some great views.
Other than that the usual nights out have occured although not as often as before!
I also went to spend the weekend with some family I haven't seen in years. I had the most fantastic weekend meeting them again and we had some great chats about the family and it's past, followed by lots of beers (bloody aussies, always drinking) but it was nice to be in a family environment again as it has been so long.
Other than that as I have said things pretty much the same, going out getting drunk, oh watching Man U win the title!! and just loving things in general. Anyone out there thinking of travelling but not sure whether to do it. I'd say definatly do it everyday's an adventure....or a hangover at least!
Hope your all well
Love Ash and Brainer xx
