Hi!
I've been having lots of fun the past few days! I had three days off, and today I was back at my second clinical at the hospital.
Let's see.. I wrote about Friday and I think Saturday (sorry, I had to delete that entry for now, but if anyone missed reading it let me know and I'll post it again).
I also did lots yesteday! In the morning Claire and I ran some errands downtown- checked email, returned a movie, and stopped at a couple stores. Then we met up with Tammy and the people who didn't have clinical so we could walk to Coney Island. Like I mentioned before, this is the island that the one in New York is named after. When the tide is low, you can actually walk across the sand to the island. I was expecting it to be muddy and sticky, but it was actually just like walking on wet sand on the beach! It was about a mile and a half to the island, and all along the way are these giant pillars. I'm not sure what their intended purpose it, but I've heard they make great safe islands for people who get stuck in the middle of the bay when the water comes back in. They just climb on top and wait for a boat to come rescue them! There's not actually much on the island. There's a small one room pub, some really old stone buildings that looked abandoned, and I think there's some vacation homes. Cars actually drive across the sand when the tide is out, too. Anyway, it was a lot of fun! I don't know too many people who can say they've WALKED to an island.
That afternoon, a small group of us went horseback riding. That was also really cool because it was near Cassiebawn Castle on a beach. It was pretty awesome riding on my horse on the beach surrounded by green hills and ocean with a castle in the distance! Riding here is a little different than in the states. For one, ther's no horn to hold onto. They also kept yellin at me to ride holding the reins with both hands, but I learned to do it with one hand in Texas. Annoying. Also annoying is when I pulled out my camera to take some pictures, my batteries popped out and fell in to a giant puddle. Totally lost. :::grumbles:: I have two spare rechargable ones back at the apartment thankfully. And Lillianna took lots of pictures to make up for the ones I didn't get. =)
Let's see... Today was clinical, and I don't think we have any more plans today expect to practice our presentation tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I have no plans but the presentation is in the afternoon and afterwards we may go downtown to a pub to find some live music since it'll be our last night in Sligo.
Talk to you later!
