Hong Kong and Macao
Everything about Hong Kong is interesting! From the man made island that they made for the airport to the sushi bars and the fascination with cleanliness they all seem to have!
I arrived at the hostel which was right in the centre of the city. It's the most expensive hostel I have stay in but it's about average quality.
That afternoon I had a walk around town to get a feel for the place, unfortunately it was raining once again! The wet season is heading to Asia!
That night I met 2 Spanish girls and an Italian who invited me out for some drinks! We headed to a nice Italian restaurant in one of the many shopping centres in the city, we met up with another 5 travellers. Never alone when you travel!
After drinks we headed for the world famous Hong Kong light show. Massive spot lights and lasers are placed all over the city and at 8pm every night they all perform a show to music which can be seen all over the city, really impressive!
The next 2 days I tried I tick off the top 10 things to do whilst in Hong Kong from a list in the hostel which I managed to do apart from a visit to Disneyland!
I visited a traditional Chinese garden which was really impressive and had an amazing temple next to it... One of my favourite temples so far! And probable one of the last as I will soon be heading back towards the western world!
On the 8th I had an interview with Skyshuttle helicopters based In Macao. This interview had been planned before I even left for my trip but I never heard back until I reached Kuala lumpa so I thought I might as well go and see what the company is like.
I decided to move my flight to after my interview, I had planned to stay in Macao for 2 days but the cheapest hotel was over £100! When I headed over on the boat I noticed all the helicopter flights were canceled due to the fog, easy day for the engineers! Different country same problems!! The boat was very nice, very large seats and fast, much better than the boats in Thailand!
I managed to find the hanger easy enough, Macao is tiny! I met Alan who is the big boss over at any shuttle. He seems like a really nice guy we had a chat about what I have been up to and ran through my CV after that we went out and met the guys in the hanger who were all really nice and then the maintenance manager. Alan offered me the job straight away and said he would take me around the city and show me the sights. We visited the beaches and then the city, he took me to the worlds biggest casino the "Valencia" we had a beer and chatted about the job and then back to the airport to head for Singapore! Nailed it, but now I need to seriously think about if I want to take the job or not! It's a long way from home and I would only get maybe 3 trips home a year maximum!
