Day 49. We headed for Inverell today through lovely countryside. It was not far, and after RM noted many road names like Rob Roy and Bannockburn, and I mentioned the possibility of a haggis supper, it was decided to continue with our trip after lunch. We are both being drawn homeward now. We set our iCompass for Bingara. This turned out to be a good choice. We are in a lovely CP on the banks of the Gwydir River. Bingara is a pretty town set in a valley amid rolling hills. They have retained some nice buildings and the houses are well maintained. We wanted to eat out and there were a few options. We decided on the Hotel Imperial, again, a good choice. The owner who we chatted to has done a great job in restoring and maintaining the building and the food - we had prawn fettuccine with a merlot - was excellent. Sadly no haggis!
