Day 50. A lovely drive through the Kaputar NP and Pilliga State Forest. It being a Sunday, the road was very quiet and anything on it like trucks seemed to be going north. The road was good and we shared the driving. We were going to stay in Gilgandra when a flash of brilliance had us head towards the Warumbungles to a CP at Tooraweenah. This little park is a gem for dog owners who want to walk in the Warumbungles. It is pretty, well appointed, quiet. It has an off lead run for dogs and also offers a kennel service so you can leave the pooch and go into the NP. In addition, we were treated to welcome homemade scones, jam and cream by the owners and also free WiFi. Talking to Sarah, one of the owners, I ended up finally downloading Wikicamps. Ros had recommended it but I was waiting to have Wifi access. Wish I had had it sooner!
Had an enjoyable evening first having a drink around the fire here and then a steak and a red at the local pub. People here from Canberra. Also a couple who recognized us from Elle from our free camp at St Lawrence for heavan's sake! She is such a dingo dog. And students from Uni of NSW studying bats.
