What can i say really other than the Coffee Farm was absolutely amazing, the views, the quite and fresh air, the house...everything was fantastic. The house (designed by Luciana) is excellent, especially for it's design as those that have been I'm sure will agree, as you feel like you outside with the comforts of the inside (if that makes sense) with the glass and natural materials. From the pictures there is one of that shows the living area/ kitchen aspect of the house which is separate from the four bedrooms that run parallel on the other side, connected by an open corridor. There is a courtyard between both 'sections', so there is the constant feel of being inside and out at the same time. The views from the house were always changing with the day so I never saw the same scenery really, ever expansive. It was exceptionally hot but there was shade from the palm trees so i was very happy relaxing outside with my book :) It did rain a little but only one night and was over with pretty quickly - made seeing the stars a little harder but soon cleared to display the luminosity of the stars. Without city lights there was so much more I could see, it was like someone had spilt a cup of sugar over the sky there was that many stars :) Firefly's are so cool and they got really close which i was surprised about - fascinating the colour and movement they have - can't say i enjoyed all the bugs too much but i was less jumpy after my first night once I'd got used to the variety, lol :) Such a girl - be interesting to see how i react on my tour in Aussie - serious bug spray i think :) Saw quite a bit of wildlife, lots of canary's and little parrots buzzing around the garden - the boys were on the look out for bird's of prey - saw a Caracara, part of the falcon family I believe - was amazing to watch in flight
Carnival was brilliant, saw Rio's samba school's on the Television - still getting over how many people are involved and the level of intricate detail on the costumes and floats. Didn't realise the amount of time and effort that goes into the festival, amazing!! I knew it was a parade of individual samba schools one after the other but didn't realise the length of time taken, I was watching for at least an hour thinking several schools had been through when in fact it was just one samba school. Sao Paulo I think has about 10 high level samba schools (I maybe wrong, that might be Rio) and each school has an 1 hour, 20 minutes or so to do there parade, the band at the front with a main theme running through with the floats and costumes & with just the average 3,000+ people involved The size of the floats and level of detail is breath taking - they must be so heavy to push with all the people on them, wow is all I can say really. The carnival in Campaha (small town about 20mins from the farm) was more low key compared to that of Rio and Sao Paulo but was great had so much fun with the boys and spray foam as the photo's display For a small town there were so many people enjoying the carnival spirit in the main square, dancing to the live band and just having fun!! Fabulous
