Tim and Brennin went for a bike ride into Biscarosse. They had fun navigating traffic circles, especially when Brennin's chain came off half way through. On their ride they found a store to renew the cell phone card, which isn't always easy to find. Even with the card we find the internet service undependable.
Meanwhile I visited the spa for a facial and a massage. It was a beautiful way to start the day!
Mariah, Darius and Belia did some bike riding, and then went on the water slides. This park has a large selection of water areas. There is an indoor wave pool and lazy river area. The outdoor part has water slides and a ginormous bucket of water (larger than we have ever seen) that dumps all over the park periodically, surprising whoever happens to be playing there. Belia wasn't a big fan of the bucket, but the others enjoyed it.
After lunch we took a drive to look at the vineyards around Bordeaux. The land continued on being very flat. We were surprised that there were not any signs advertising the wine or wineries. We were almost in the city of Bordeaux when the land finally became slightly hilly, and we managed to find 3 wine chateaus. The chateaus looked very nice, one resembled a castle, but unfortunately they were closed because it was Sunday. Also, chateaus are mostly by appointment only. I'm kicking myself now for not getting in touch with Tonya's friend who lives in the area. We did enjoy drinking some beautiful Bordeaux wines at a fraction of the cost that we would pay at home.
We drove back to our campground and the kids enjoyed some pool time. They made friends with a family visiting from Ireland. Mariah and Belia were similar ages to two of the kids. They found their strong accents, and different words for things interesting. It was almost dark by the time we made them come in. They exchanged information hoping to stay in touch.
