Gave everyone a sleep in today. TB not well with a cold and all stuffed up in the head - flu tablets not doing much.
Headed downtown and jumped off at Copley Square for a look around the Back Bay neighborhood.
Great part of town with great old buildings and a great vibe. Took a walk along Newbury street and into a few shops (becoming a large flavour travelling with the 3 chicks!)
Had planned to walk along the waterfront parks but started raining. Ducking & diving we conceded and out came the faithful umbrellas.
We continued on, lovely walking in the rain actually. Found ourselves in Boston Common and can imagine would be great with sunshine. Took refuge under a bridge for a bit before deciding which way to turn.
TB asked that we connect back to hotel so she can rest. Took the green line back to Lechmere and made sure all comfortable.
I sat for a bit then EB and I decided to head out. Grabbed bus 69 and took off - both Emma and I can now honestly say we have been to Harvard University. Was grey and in the end quite a soggy afternoon but had a lovely walk around and thru the place. The buildings and history are amazing. Was a shame to be wet but really glad we took time to do this - thanks Emmy.
On return had to wake TB to get into the room. Had a bit of tv time until the natives got hungry. What to do - we are finding the hotel breakfast results in a late lunch and no one really wanting to make a choice for dinners. Subway has been good for us so far, tonight was $1- Maccas. Amazing what you can do for 10-12 bucks, granted it is crap but it is warm and fresh.
We have plenty of tv channels and 2 tv's here so no shortage of options. A lot like the McDonalds theory.....
Crashed in tv mode after a good day in Boston. I think weather will be better tomorrow. The Red Sox have their first home game @ Fenway Park and might try to get tickets, have a feeling it us a sell out though - will see what we can do.
