THANK YOU FOR ALL MY BIRTHDAY WISHES!
I had a really good day. We both got given the day off so we had a lie in and then went to the pub and played pool. Terry made us calamari, prawns and crayfish for lunch! We spent most the day just chilling out round our flat and the pub. Terry got one of the girls in the café to make me a chocolate cake which was lovely! And YUMMY!!!! Then in the evening a bunch of us went to Swan Hill, the nearest town (an hours drive!) for a Balinese/Thai meal. The food was lovely and we sat outside in the 30degree heat! My first Birthday in the summer - was a nice change! On the way to the restaurant Dani and James (Terrys friends) stopped to show us the "Giant Murray Cod" which is a massive fish. Apparently in towns which don't have many touristy things they put a massive 'thing' in the town, they have a koala and other animals and objects elsewhere. When we got back to Wycheproof we had a few drinks in the pub and they all say happy birthday to me! It was a really nice day! ...now we're back to work!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the snow! We've settled in well to Wycheproof and have really landed on our feet with this job. We've not done a lot except work which is why we haven't put much up recently. We'll get some photos of inside the pub and café so you can all see where were working. Mel has had most shifts at the bar and one in the café and I've been in the café a couple of times and have been a kitchen hand at the pub a few times. So we're both learning new things and slowly getting to grasp with their Aussi country lingo!
