We arrived in Hong Kong at 7:30pm, the taxi queue was massive so we got on a free shuttle bus service to a random hotel that was in a closer area to Breamar Hill. I was very much overwhelmed by the sheer height of the buildings and by the bright lights always as the insane amount of people everywhere!
The flat is on the 13th floor with awesome views over Hong Kong !
5th July - we both woke up at 5am - think it was down to jet lag. I can't believe How hot and humid this place is! We went for a walk around Causeway Bay, there were lots of shops and people everywhere I looked. After looking around the shops we headed back to the flats where we went up to the 14th floor (ems old flat) to see her friends.
Later that night we got the star ferry across to Tsim Sha Tsui which is directly across from Hong Kong, we looked across and admired the skyline. The view was incredible. It certainly is the city of lights with pretty much all the lights flashing on the waterfront buildings.
6th July- the sun is scorching today! We headed to Stanley market. It took about an hour on minibuses to get there but it was so cool! The market itself reminded me a bit like the ones in Thailand but with more gadgets and most of them would easily drop the price which was good as we got lots of bargains!
Once we spent all our money, we hopped off the bus at Repulse Bay where we walked around a Chinese temple which was pretty and over the top! We also met up with some of Ems old rugby friends.
7th July - today we went to Hong Kongs 3rd largest - Lamma. The island is beautiful and picturesque. We walked around the top of the island, it was really pretty with stunning views over the sea, we walked through housing estates and past some Chinese graves which were like the size of swimming pools! But they always faced towards the water. Next stop was the seafood restaurant! We had an interesting combination of seafood and pigeon! It was lovely apart from the bit when the pigeon came with its head still on the plate!!!
Once back on Hong Kong we jumped onto a tram! It's was cool, kind of looks like a squished bus but a lot slower than one!
