Well, it's my last full day in Les Arcs. I can't believe how quick it has gone by. I'm really thankful for getting some down time before my next trek through northern Italy. I'm so excited for this part too. I feel so much more confident about taking the train, speaking the languages and finding my way. I'm also elated to have such wonderful family. I've been spoiled here.
Last night we had the 50th birthday party. We went to a pizza place called La Pinède. There were about 20 people in total. I had the pizza spéciale. It had the thinnest crust I've ever seen. I also added some hot sauce but it was more like an olive oil sauce. It was quite good.
The highlight of the evening was the magician friend he has there. He entertained us with crazy card tricks. One in particular was where he had someone pick a card, put it back in the deck. He picked it out of the deck but kept doing funky things that would make the card appear again and again. At the end of the trick he had about 6 cards all the same. The deck looked legitimate. In a different trick he made the kings appear with no moustaches.
My aunt took us all out to lunch at a restaurant called Buffalo Grill. It was pretty good. It amazes me how they want to be 'westernized'. Maybe it's for the tourists? Who knows?
We took a drive to a nursery and drive along the coast through Ste. Rafaele. It was beautiful but I could not believe the tourists. It's only April!!! I'm sure the long weekend has something to do with it.
It will be an early night. I have to prepare my stuff and get sorted for tomorrow. Milan here I come!
