We've lost count of the days in the aviva house as we haven't had the internet..lots to catch up on
Last Thursday was the peninsula tour. Luckily our guide Keenan knew us as he had to put up with lots of questions!
"Are they seals!!!??"........."No...that's seaweed"
"Is that a whale!!!??".........."No...that's a rock"
We went to lots of pretty bays on our way round, went to seal island where we nearly fell out of the boat! Stopped of at boulder's bay to visit some more penguins and then went to cape of good hope, a national park with lots of animals walking around including baboons, then finished at cape point.
Friday we decided to walk (or rather rock climb!) to the top of table mountain! It took us 2 and a half hours but we made it and the views were definitely worth it!! Cable car down was scarier than the walk up! (see pictures)
Saturday and Sunday we actually did some work at the home!!
Monday we went on a cultural tour around the townships. Saw a teenager waving a gun around, and tori jumped to the floor for fear of getting a 'cap in her ass.' (got that from the americans we're living with). Visited a school where all the children sung to us and the world's smallest b&b (don't think we'll be staying there as it was a converted township shed) but it was actually really interesting and everyone was really friendly- the kids loved posing for the photos.
Today we went shark cage diving!!! Went in a cage next to the boat and saw quite a few great whites swimming about 1m away! One went for the bait right in front of us so we had jaws heading straight for our face!! Apparently all of the boats around heard us scream! It was such a great experience!!!
Got lots planned so will keep you up to date x
