THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for all the msgs on the msg board-so nice to hear from you all!!I'm in Queenstown at the moment-which is absolutely beautiful. It's not as big as i thought it would be but it's got a really nice vibe about the place. Everyone is so friendly and relaxed, there's a couple of main streets lined with restuarants/cafes/shops etc, with a lovely harbour area-surrounded by a gravel beach and lot's of grassy areas to relax on. Claire and Beth went skydiving the other day-i was soooo tempted to go again but managed to stop myself!! Queenstown has given us abit of chance to just chill out alittle and it's been nice to have a base for 5 days or so-not having to hop on and off a bus everyday. Yesterday we went to Milford Sound-which was abit of a waste of money to be honest. Everyone had told us it was definately worth the trip as the scenery was absolutely amazing down there, and yes it was nice but nothing spectacular to what we'd already seen on our travels around the island. The weather probabaly didn't help matters though as it was pretty overcast with low lying clouds all day. Ended up spending 4 hours on the coach getting there to hop on our boat cruise for 2 hours and then have a 4 hour journey back-but ah well-some recommendadtions are better than others. We had planned to stay down there for a night or so but it soon became apparent that they'd be little to do so we've returned to Queenstown as much more to do here-know as the adrenaline capital! On our way into Queenstown we stopped at the kawaru bridge where the first bungy jump exsists-after being adament i would NEVER do a bungy jump, got caught up in the moment alittle and me and claire became very tempted-didn't look as bad as i had imagined-i think if i'd donw it there n then i would of been ok, but we dwelled over it a for a few days and the more i think bout it-there more we're put off by the idea n decided could spend the money elsewhere rather than actually spenidng the whole day being petrified about doing it (not fun!). Done a few other things like cycling round the lake (and i didn't tumble over the handlebars this time!!!), lunging (which involves going down the mountain on a concrete track in non-motorised go karts-great fun!Think the helmets definately give us that sex appeal aswell-AND....we wonder why we haven't attracted any good looking kiwi's!!hmmmm??!!!), Went up on the gondola (watched andy bungy jump off 'the ledge'-he's one brave bloke-he'd done all 3 bungy jumps that day-the bridge, the nevis and the ledge!MADNESS!). Obviously had a few nights out-we arrived here on a saturday night so had a big night out to mark our arrival and catch up with everyone from our previous bus-end up to be a V. DRUNKEN night!!loook @ the cool teapots they served their cocktails in at 'the world bar'! Got a few more days here before we leave for Christchurch, so got abit more chance to explore....
