Giant Steps Are What You Take, Walking on the Moon
Oh boy. So, I dunno how this blog business is going to work out. I am trying to prepare for my trip, get shots, work on my Spanish, watch at least one Spanish movie a week, watch 30 mins of cultural stuff on youtube about Peru in general, dance, music, food, history, heroes, Lima, etc. So far it's going ok but I just can't seem to concentrate on my formal Spanish practice, so although my vocab is building my grammar and structure isn't really progressing. Things keep popping up here that get me upset and not wanting to work and unable to focus on it, but I need to keep my head up, keep moving forward and not let little stupid things like HORRIBLE landlords, lame friends, awful job and such get in the way of what is coming up. I have some great ideas or my workshops and am really excited about July to live with the other interns in Newfoundland. It should be a good time to practice my Spanish and refresh all that IDS business I haven't looked at in 2+ years not to mention take in all NFLD has. I guess the point of this was to get me thinking positive. I am now thinking positive and I'm excited to watch Amores Perros tonight. If anyone has suggestions of Spanish films let me know, I unfortunately only have access to what Blockbuster has but lemme know what you suggest. So far I have seen: Volver, Y Tu Mama Tambien, La Historia Official, Motorcycle Diaries, The Take, Mala Education, Talk to Her I plan on seeing: No se lo digas a nadie, and documentaries that I can find.OK love you all and hope everyone is doing well :) So now it's Canada Day, I have, of course, procrastinated to the last minute possible and still haven't finished packing yet!!! Getting there but still not quite yet. Tomorrow first thing in the morning I fly to Halifax where I will hang out for 2 hours then continue onto St. John's. I will be meeting one of my colleagues Denesia in Halifax which I am looking forward to. Stay tuned for the latest and greatest from NFLD!
