Giant Steps Are What You Take, Walking on the Moon
Oh hey-yo,So I am in St. John's Newfoundland! So far so good. My colleagues are awesome and the province seems like paradise. Everyone so far has been very friendly and laid back, living up to my expectations. Downtown is smaller than expected but thats not discouraging. They allow public art, some of which I will add later on which I appreciate. They have what they call "jellybean rows" of multi-colored town houses which are really cute and reflect the attitudes and colorful personalities of the people who live in them. They also have a great urban park system, I have been going for some amazing runs, yelling from the top of granite slabs, seeing trees, ferns and greenery everywhere. I was so happy just running and running. I found a stretch of trail that is long almost porch like in structure, sorta like in Bouctouche in New Brunswick, and felt so free just running, singing, yelling, I also ran into a family of swans. They have soccer fields, a park, creek trails, a green house, a pool with a slide, swings and all that fun stuff. All in all really nice so far. I have tried some Newfoundland beer, Blue Star (not bad!). They have Stella on draught everywhere and to tell the truth I haven't seen any fastfood and not nearly as many Tim's as in Moncton. I also found out that later this month I will be going on a trip somewhere else in Canada, I am hoping Montreal or Vancouver (ha! right!) but it will probably be Halifax, nonetheless I look forward to seeing all my friends there. Miss everyone so far!
