After a rubbish start to Fiji (some bint called Grace messed up our booking) we arrived on Waya island in Octopus Resort. Here we met up with team 17 minus Jacko plus bottle of jaegermeister - standard. Octopus was luxury. Such a gorgeous resort and he dorm was so not a dorm! The whole island was beautiful and you couldn't fault the beach and pool. On arrival we had a traditional Fijian welcome and got to drink the local Kava drink. Really good to see the guys again and had a great time with them and all the kids we managed to adopt. On our last night we all went on a fishing trip. Ended up with Jen being the only one to catch anything - 0.69 of a fish, about 3 inches long!! Really gorgeous sunset though and the beer was flowing so all was good!
Our next stop was Beachcomber where we had 3 nites in the 100 bed dorm! The food was great and the water here was so clear and beautiful. Pure tropical paradise! We made friends with nemo and his dad (I actually managed to get nemo lost! gutted! dont ask!). On the second day we were joined by the other FRRGs (Nat and Teaser) and made a bunch of other friends whilst drinking in the bar - standard. A couple of very crazy nites enjoyed by all! I made friends with a group of Irish guys who were impressed with my drinking as well as my Irish accent. They teach me some of the Irish language and being off my face I am naturally a pro.
NB. Irish is NOT simply English spoken with an Irish accent.
On the last day we managed to fit in more swimmage and tannage altho poor tess and nat were really ill. More drinking games enjoyed that evening (for a change) before getting up to head back to Nadi the next morning. On the last day we had possibly one of the funniest moments on tour when Jen starts screaming as she thought there was a shark coming towards her. After getting the attention of most of the beach she realises it is in fact a scuba diver. I actually laughed for half an hour! priceless! Thanx Jen!
All in all we managed to finally get a bit of R&R in Fiji which was just stunning. So lucky with the weather and the islands we went to. So gutted when we had to leave...... and go to the Cook Islands!!!!
