Finished off the food I had left in the hostel only to realise that breakfasts were free anyway! Missed out on that! Started chatting to an Aussie girl and watching the Eng v Aus game with her before she offered to give me a lift to the bus station.
I managed to get a bus for £10 to Mbabane, the capital of Swaziland. The buses were actually quite nice. Since the world cup, there seems to have been a decent funding in the transport as there are loads of minibuses (taxis they call them), all modern and actually quite comfortable.
Like in other African countries they wait until they can fill the bus up so they can get as much money as possible, which means you've got to be prepared to wait sometimes! The trip itself was several hours in which I was chatting to a very pretty but very big-reared Swazi girl. She was saying how she was studying journalism and her boyfriend worked for a South African sports channel but she was banging on about leaving him and asking me tonnes of questions about what I did, my girlfriend and everything! She was joking around and flirting and kept resting her head on me and told me to come and celebrate her birthday in the week!
The border cross was pretty straightforward but it was funny as at the gates from SA to Swaziland there was ridiculous rain on the Swazi side. The guard was saying to me, see, why do you want to go to that country?! The woman at the passport control was a right miserable cow and all she asked me was where was I going and how long for and said nothing else!
The girl with the big booty thankfully got off to go to Manzini whereas the driver, for an extra two quid when arriving at Mbabane, the capital, took me to Ezulwini. Then some waiter at a posh bar rang a taxi for me and the guy charged me a fiver. It was only up the hill so I was fuming! I could have walked it in five minutes if I'd have known! Ridiculous! The chap was saying it was because he'd come from miles away to take me but I couldn't be bothered to argue even though I told him it shouldn't even cost 30 rand!
My backpackers Legends was quiet but I chatted to an old South African guy called Peter (who was staying there to avoid extra taxes from SA as he works as a medic in Chad), a Danish couple and then my new romance, Michael Winter.
Me and Wints went down the pub for some ciders and an Amarula. Peter, the Danes (the girl who's 21st it was) and Andy the American kayak/raft guide joined us later on. Not a late one and in bed by half ten.
