Today was hangover day at the beach and it was great weather. We had chicken burger, chips and a coke overlooking the ocean from Joe Cool's. Had a ridiculous experience with some very dense staff who couldn't figure out the change situation between the three of us and we found it hilarious.
On the beach, we chilled, hired a surfboard and me and Jack had a go. I was pretty useless with it being my first time and the waves and current were so strong I was getting pulled away from shore or into the jetty where sharp rocks cut the skin. Some guy above was worried and instructed me around the jetty to an easier place to attempt surfing. The waves were awesome and I did get dragged for ages by some waves but I couldn't really stand up. It needed more practise. I tried at one point but I got banged out by the wave. On the other side it was a similar story but there were loads of surfers and I was clearly the amateur getting smashed off of my board even when just lying on it! At one point I got stranded underwater for a while and what really got me thinking in two minds when on the board was sharks, because that is why most shark attacks occur!
I ended up back at the beach with a couple of big scratches bleeding from where the hooks of the board caught me underwater and from the rocks.
We had a nap on the beach and some little local b*****s rolled over right next to us in quick succession and all of a sudden Mike shouted and chased them waking me up. Wondering what was going on, the kids had picked up his phone and wallet and tried to knick them in broad daylight with loads of people around!
It was time to go out again, but tonight we went out with the two Germans and a big group of Dutch, Belgian and other European girls. We hit Sasha, the club we didn't get into last night and got our dance moves on. Randomly, we met Butch James' (South African rugby international) fiancée and all her friends with her were from Bath (as he plays for Bath) on her hen night.
It wasn't as fun as last night because we were still hanging a bit but we still hit it hard and had a giggle.
Almost forgot to mention the weird Dutch guy that was hanging around with us on both nights, the social hand-grenade. He was so odd, just smiling at you when you looked towards him and he would always be taking secretive photos of everyone. Very scary….
