7/1/2011 First time since the day we arrived in Nacala that we have seen heavy rain. The rainy season was due! Mind you, complain as I did about it in Malawi, it made for a cooler sleep in Mozam. Three German women and a Swiss couple arrived yesterday and it turned out two of the Germans were actresses! Nice women but one moaned that her coffee (that I made) wasn't strong enough! 6/1/2011 It was a long day of painting the buildings outside walls white. Scorching heat made for a lovely sweaty job but other than being covered in paint it wasn't so bad. We chilled in the pool at lunch and in the evening got chatting to a guy from Lincoln who was with the South Africans. I completed the comeback and was level with Jack at chess. Turned out to be our final game.

5/1/2011 Had my first dive today and did ok despite not being able to breathe properly without a mask on. I kept choking getting water up my nose and on one go I did 55 seconds when I needed to breathe for a minute. On the last go before we decided to call it a day, I kept my composure and told myself to stop being a wimp, concentrate and just get to a minute….and I did it. 4/1/2011 PJ caught fishermen in the reserve and took photos with my camera before reporting them. They got a hefty fine but she had a right tussle with them holding his gear at ransom until the Fishermen's Association guy turned up! 3/1/2011 I paid off another bill of drinks and bits which amounted £20 in just several days! God knows how I got through so much! I did my usual jobs like stock checking in the morning and reporting if we had any drinks down, refilling the fridges and carrying boxes of booze to and from the beach.
