Jack and I caught a horse and cart to an internet cafe where we had a couple of drinks and a nice spicy beefburger. We literally crave protein on this trip - all we eat is fruity and veg and baked goods otherwise! After a filthy horrible 2-3 hours trying to find the right bus back to Addis (as we had run out of money to stay at the lakes), we finally squeezed on a little bus for like 50p each - absolute bargain!
Back in Addis we got our bearings all wrong until we found a familiar bus stop and got to our road. On the bus there was Ethiopian commentary (I think their language is called Amharik?!) and it sounded like Spurs were losing to Arsenal! But as we got to our road, which normally there were dozens of locals screaming Tottenham at me, I heard English commentary in this shack. Had to pay like 12p to watch the second half - but it was so worth it! 2-0 down and about to kick-off the second half, I was cursing but being that I never give up on the yids, there was a whole crowd of gutted Arsenal fans, me, and a couple of happy United fans.
On our short walk back to Andy's, Jack was approached by some local kids asking for money (there are so many that ask for it and Jack ends up getting very assy and asking them for some! haha) and the one lad showed Jack his ruined shoes. Earlier on in Debre Zeyit, we took flip-flops from the room of our accommodation and decided to give them to these kids! Made his day! However, Andy then informed us that they were shower flip flops, but I only found them deep under the bed searching for my mozzy repellent lid! Oh well, I then realised I left my lynx shower gel there. Very gutted!
Jack and I had a monster pizza tea whilst chatting to a Scottish chef we met at the British embassy. He gave some good travelling advice but I then realised AI hadn't brought enough money to pay for my tea so had to make two trips. Tit.
